If you haven't already seen it....GO! You all know what I am talking about.....Batman? The man of Bats? The bat of men? or something.... Truly AMAZING. I went to see this on Saturday night and it really was a great film. The film itself definitely was not as good as Batman Begins but thats what not makes it such a brilliant watch. Heath Ledger's performance as Joker is outstanding!
Miles from Jack Nicholson's take on the role the older Batman, Ledger takes the role to the shadows, where even what's comic is hardly a relief. No plastic mask for Ledger; his face is caked with moldy makeup that highlights the red scar of a grin, the grungy hair and the yellowing teeth of a hound fresh out of hell.
To the clown prince of crime, a knife is preferable to a gun, the better to "savor the moment."
“Do you want to know why I use knives…? Because guns are too quick.”
Brilliant

Well deserved break!
Friday the 25th July....GOOGLEFEST 2008 came to town! We finished up work at about 4pm to head to the google summer party, and what a night it was going to be. Hosted by Shelbourne Park GAA track, it was like a mini electric picnic! With bands playing, a silent disco, food, beer (free beer), fun and games it was destined to be a cracking night from the outset. Entertainment on the night was by the Delorentos and Vertigo (U2 tribute act). It was great fun...
Come the weekend and whilst all my colleagues were nursing hangovers dreading work on Monday, I knew I was off for the week...THATS RIGHT, A WEEK OFF!! WOOP WOOP! Although im back in the office now, its not too bad. I got to spend a week chilling out and enjoying the lack of work! We headed to Newry on Monday morning and I picked up a nice pair of waterproof (Gortex apparently,) gloves for the bike and a pair of padded trousers from Hein Gerrike...I love that store! Myself and Caoimhe also did a shop in Sainsburys! Like a real life Jamie Oliver!
Tuesday, we headed to Kilmainham Jail. Although Caoimhe lived right next to it and she had been before, for me, this was my first visit and I thoroughly enjoyed it. What a fascinating place with a fascinating history!
Wednesday was Tattoo day. We went to town, got drunk, ate food, went shopping and both got tattoos! Ill post pictures again! :) (When the heal and stop looking like scabs....)
What a great time being off, the rest of the week was truly spent relaxing with a few drinks in the evening, a lie in the next morning and walks on the beach with the dog. A great great week :)

What im reading...
Anybody who knows me will know that I dont read.....ever. I buy motoring magazines and look at the pictures. I suppose I read threads on forums etc but it's not exactly taxing reading is it! Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I was in Borders and I picked up 'The Long Way Down' after watching Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman's 'Long Way Round' trip around the world documentary. Two of my favorite things, motoring and travelling combined in one book! Now if i had have known they made a DVD of Long Way Down I probably would have bought that rather than the book but at the time i didnt......looking back now, Im so happy! The book is FAAANNNTTTAAASSSTTTIIICCC!!
The book is presented step by step as they make their trip from John O Groats, through europe and northern africa, along the nile down to cape town. It makes very relaxed reading with the scottish and irish witty nature of these two best friends talking about the highs and lows along the way.
Definately worth a look!
London Baby!!!
What a week this is turning out to be! Im WRECKED, i was in London at the weekend and I am SOOOOO tired from it. I flew over on Thursday evening and I got back on Sunday night (after a four hour flight delay!!)
I love London though, it's a great place. I went to the races in Ascot at the weekend to win my spending money....but I came out broke :( Stupid horses are STILL running around the track! There was a nice big UK car show there though which was excellent. As a massive petrol head as im sure you know, it was an ideal place for me to enjoy myself. Ferrari, Maserati, BMW, Aston Martin, TVR and Weismann were all there. Not to mention Ciao Bella Scooters who displayed their full range of fully restored 1960's scooters. Proper 'Quadrophenia' style!
Highlight of the weekend however was not the gambling, or the drunken nights....On sunday, we dropped a visit to the location of the 'Cans Festival'. London's dedicated stencil graffiti exhibition in the Leake Tunnel below Waterloo station. What a place! The stencil art from the likes of Banksy and Blek Le Rat is something not to be missed. We spent over an hour just eyeballing the fascinating art.....
Definately a place that will be high on my list of destinations next time I make it to London!
